Vamos praticar nosso inglês de forma divertida (vocabulário / imperativo)

Basic Muffins



§ 1 1/2 cups flour

§ 1 teaspoon salt

§ 3 teaspoons baking powder

§ 1 egg

§ 1 cup milk

§ 1/4 cup sugar, brown or white

§ 3 tablespoons butter, melted

1. Preheat the oven to moderate (175°C / 350°F). Grease muffin tins.

2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking powder together. Beat the egg, milk and sugar together in a separate bowl. Stir in the melted butter and mix with the dry ingredients. Quickly blend with a spoon just enough to moisten the dry ingredients. The batter can and should be lumpy; do not overstir. See the “Technical Notes” for more information about working with this kind of batter. Fill the muffin tins to not more than 3/4 full. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Makes about 12 muffins.

Additions and variations:

§ Substitute half the flour for whole-wheat flour.

§ Add combinations of dried fruits and nuts.

§ 1/2 cup mashed ripe bananas, or chopped apples, or crushed and drained pineapple, or chopped and peeled peaches.

§ 1 cup cranberries.
